The Center for Museum Education offers art classes for adults and children. You can take part in short-form workshops or multi-session courses, all offered at convenient times and reasonable prices. Courses for adults include special workshops in plein air painting, photography, and printmaking, among other subjects. Regular courses include ceramics, drawing, and painting. For youngsters, there are after school workshops in pottery, drawing, and mixed media, plus summer camp opportunities, including a new "Heritage Green" Museum camp programmed in collaboration with the Upcountry History Museum. Registration opens March 11, 2009. For information about the courses, use the links at the right, or download a printable version. The Museum will NOT be mailing printed versions of the course schedule. If you need only the registration form, click here. Both files are available in Adobe Acrobat format. For more information about the Acrobat plug-in, see below. If you're a member of the Museum Association, these courses are an exceptional value: those who pay less than $100 per year in membership fees save 10%; contributor or sponsor-level members save 20% on registration. The Museum participates in an administrative partnership with Furman University to expand the reach of educational programs. Furman's Division of Continuing Education (Lifelong Learning) will manage registration and collect fees related to the courses. You can call 864/294-3134 for additional information. Additional contact numbers: 864/294-2153 or 294-2156. If you have questions, call Center Program Director Anne Barr at 271-7570, extension 12, or send her an e-mail.
