There’s something for everyone as the Greenville County Museum of Art continues a range of special events and programs on Thursday evenings. The Museum is open every Thursday until 8 pm. It's a cool, comfortable way to spend some time!

September 9
Artists in Action: Watch ceramic artists Jay Owens and Lily Stratton demonstrate the art of throwing pottery in the Museum’s newly renovated art studios.

September 30
The Marriage of Frame and Painting. Join Alan Shuptrine of Gold Leaf Designs and Gallery in Chattanooga for a demonstration and discussion of the aesthetics of framing.

October 7
The Art of Children’s Literature: Author Greg Ramsey and illustrator John Lasne offer insights into writing and illustrating children’s books. Presented in collaboration with Greenville Family Partnership.

October 14
The Greenville County Museum of Art closes at 5 pm

November 4
Music in the Galleries: Enjoy music by women’s choral ensemble, the Greenville Chamber Singers.

November 11
Artists Talk: Artist and educator Michael Brodeur offers his take on Jasper Johns Prints: The First Half-Century

November 18
Hear DebbieLee Landi, Special Collections Librarian and University Archivist at Furman University, discuss the history of book illustrations. Her presentation is highly engaging: it begins with illuminated manuscripts and concludes with digitizations of 21st-century images.

November 25
Thanksgiving. The Museum will be closed Thursday November 25 and Friday, November 26, reopening on Saturday, November 27.

December 2
Holiday Music in the Galleries, Carolina Bronze Hand Bell Choir, back by popular demand!

 

Thursday evening programs begin at 6:30 pm and
they're all absolutely free!
